At the Darren Deady Foundation, our mission, “Reaching Out, Helping All,” reflects our dedication to honouring Kingsman Darren Deady’s legacy by offering comprehensive support to veterans and their families. We strive to promote their well-being and empower them to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Led by Darren’s family, former members of the armed forces, and compassionate professionals, we are committed to providing a holistic support network tailored to the unique needs of veterans. Through personalized assistance and a deep understanding of the military experience, we aim to help veterans, and their families build stable, fulfilling lives. Our services include temporary housing with a path to permanent solutions, guidance on accessing benefits, and emotional and mental health support. We extend our help further by offering free employability courses, essential resources such as furniture, food, and clothing, and fostering community through hobby clubs and activities.

Understanding the sacrifices made by those who have served, we are driven to ensure that every veteran receives the respect, care, and opportunities they deserve. Through collaboration, compassion, and commitment, we work tirelessly to overcome the unique barriers that challenge our veterans and their families, providing them with the foundation for a brighter future.

Our Charitable Objectives

For the public benefit,

The relief of veterans and reservists of HM Forces and their families who are in need by reason of ill-health, disability or financial hardship through the provision of advice, support services (including the provision of short term accommodation) and education in particular in relation to helping them find employment, accommodation, improve their physical and mental health and to support such individuals to integrate into society.

The promotion of social inclusion among veterans and reservists of HM Forces to prevent them from becoming socially excluded and to help them integrate into society in such ways as the trustees think fit, including by providing opportunities to access peer support and recreational activities.

Our Programs and Services

At the Darren Deady Foundation, we are dedicated to offering comprehensive support to veterans and their families. Our initiatives are designed to address a wide range of needs and include:

Foodbank Support

Thanks to the generous backing of our main donor, Morrison’s, we have been supporting the local foodbank for the past three years. This initiative ensures that veterans and their families have access to essential food supplies. We offer both in-person collection and delivery services to enhance accessibility.

Furniture and White Goods Assistance

We collect and distribute donated furniture and essential household appliances to veterans in need. In urgent situations, we also purchase items to provide immediate assistance, helping those who cannot afford replacements or are moving into new homes after experiencing homelessness.

Debt Relief and Form Filling Assistance

Our support extends to individuals facing financial difficulties, including debt relief services and help with complex form-filling, such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP) forms and Universal Credit applications. We provide one-on-one guidance to empower individuals to manage these tasks independently in the future.

Employment Support

We offer tailored employment support to veterans and service leavers, assisting with job training, skill development, and securing meaningful employment. Our partnerships with various organizations enhance our ability to provide comprehensive employment guidance.

Education and Training

Our digital suite helps veterans enhance their knowledge and skills, including internet usage, online banking, bill payments, and CV writing. This education empowers veterans to navigate the digital world and improve their employability.

Poverty Prevention and Relief

We are committed to alleviating poverty among veterans through financial support and connecting them with additional resources to overcome economic hardships.

Housing Assistance

We assist veterans in finding stable housing by collaborating with housing associations, local councils, and private landlords. In some cases, we provide grants for deposits to help those facing homelessness secure a home.

Befriending Service

Our befriending service reduces social isolation by pairing individuals with friendly volunteers, promoting social inclusion and supporting mental health and well-being.
